PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous compressed fibrous material of a tabular body, having high density, high surface smoothness and high tensile strength and, having air permeability and excellent liquid absorptive function due to continuous holes. SOLUTION: This porous compressed fibrous material is a tabular body obtained by compressing a web or a nonwoven fabric comprising a sheath-core conjugate fiber consisting of a sheath component of a low melting thermoplastic resin and a core component of a high melting thermoplastic resin and has 0.1-0.6 g/cm<3> density and 0.05-0.3 mean frictional coefficient (MIU).
