PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stoker type incinerating furnace and incinerating method by the same capable of reducing the introducing amount of air to increase the temperature of the inside of the furnace, and to improve the incinerating efficiency of the furnace while contriving the reducing of an environmental load by reducing unburnt constituent in combustible gas. SOLUTION: In the stoker type incinerating furnace, in which the drying and thermal decomposition of matters to be incinerated, which are supplied from a waste supplying port 2 into a combustion chamber 7, are effected on a plurality of stoker stages having an air casing and a fire grate equipped with air sending port for supplying air in the air casing and the upper part of the same to the matters to be incinerated while moving sequentially on the plurality of stoker stages to incinerate the matters, the fire grate 52 provided on the stoker stage 5 for at least effecting combustion among the plurality of stoker stages, is provided with air injection ports so that much amount of air is supplied to the vicinity of the center of fire grate in the widthwise direction orthogonal to the moving direction of the matters to be incinerated.
