PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a sinker butte from heat generation and a damage. SOLUTION: The paired sinker consist of a high butte sinker and a low butte sinker inserted into the same sinker groove and separately controlled during the work of the knitting machine, and is characterized by cutting the tail in the rear direction of the butte at least at a position corresponding to the butte of the low butte sinker or further remote position to become short in the high butte sinker, and installing a spacer having the same thickness with the high butte sinker or slightly thicker than that at a horizontal part of the sinker corresponding at least to the butte position in the low butte sinker.
