PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a new, modified chainlike clay mineral in which zeolitic water in the chainlike clay mineral is effectively removed, and further, the condensation of zeolitic water is effectively prevented. SOLUTION: In an organopolysiloxane-chainlike clay mineral composition, zeolitic water in the chainlike clay mineral is substantially substituted with organopolysiloxane.
