PURPOSE: A thin film transistor substrate for a liquid crystal display device is provided to minimize the fringe fields generated between pixel electrodes and gate wires by covering the gate wires with the pixel electrodes, thereby stabilizing the liquid crystal alignment. CONSTITUTION: A thin film transistor substrate for a liquid crystal display device includes gate wires having main gate lines(21) formed on an insulating substrate(10), subsidiary gate lines(22) in parallel to the main gate lines, and first and second gate connecting lines(23,24) perpendicular to the main gate lines and connecting the main gate lines to the subsidiary gate lines, a gate insulating film covering the gate wires, a semiconductor layer(41) formed on the gate insulating film, data wires having data lines(61) formed on the semiconductor layer, source electrodes(62) as a part of the data lines, and drain electrodes(63) separated from the source electrodes, a protecting film formed on the data wires, and pixel electrodes(80) formed on the protecting film and covering the entire width of the gate wires. |
