PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manual transmission formable in the compact constitution, and capable of enhancing degree of freedom of design in the manual transmission capable of preventing an erroneous shift to a backward gear stage from a forward gear stage at forward traveling time. SOLUTION: This manual transmission 1 is provided with a main case 3, a selector 4 for rotating and sliding by respectively interlocking with select operation and shift operation, shift forks 30 to 32 for a shift for selectively engaging by rotating the selector 4, and a reverse lock cam mechanism 60 installed in the main case 3. When shifting a shift lever 2 toward a reverse position R from a fifth speed position 5th, a pin 45 of the selector 4 moves toward the reverse corresponding position R' side from a fifth speed corresponding position 5th' by interlocking with this shift operation. In that case, a cam 63 of the reverse lock cam mechanism 60 abuts to the pin 45 so that the pin 45 is checked on a shift movement to a reverse corresponding position R'.
