PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitance type liquid level sensor that can be reduced in cost and size. SOLUTION: This level sensor is characterized in that it is provided with a winding shaft, a capacitor using, as electrodes, two metal wires wound on the winding shaft with an axial-directional space respectively, and a circuit connected to the capacitor to detect a capacitance change thereof so as to issue an electric signal. The circuit is stored preferably in an inside of the winding shaft. A case is preferably provided to envelope the capacitor.
