PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a false-twisting machine, without being influenced by mechanical disturbance and capable of accurately detecting a defect when dispersion exists in the elongation of feed yarn and swell exists in tension. SOLUTION: This false-twisting machine 1 carries out feedback control of a false twister 2 so that untwist tension becomes a prescribed value by producing a tension-adjusting order signal A based on untwist tension detected on downstream side from the false twister 2 and outputting the signal A to untwist tension adjusting devices 4a and 4b of the false twister 2 and the false-twisting machine 1 is equipped with detection means 11a and 11b for detecting actual driving means of the false twister 2 and an abnormality-judging means for carrying out judgement of abnormality based on values Ba and Bb detected by detection means 11a and 11b and outputting an alarm signal E when judged to be abnormal.
