PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass forming die which is capable of forming optical glass of a molten state in the atmosphere, i.e., capable of obtaining optical glass formed goods having good appearance of their forming surfaces without fusion to the optical glass and an inexpensive optical glass forming as well as an inexpensive formed optical element. SOLUTION: There are provided the glass forming die for obtaining the optical glass forming of a desired shape by press forming the optical glass of the molten state in the atmosphere, of which the essential component and second component of the glass forming die consist of an alloy of a composition selected from 3d metals exclusive of iron Fe and the optical glass forming obtained by forming the molten optical glass in the atmosphere by using the optical glass forming die described above as well as the formed optical element obtained by press forming the optical glass forming by using precision forming dies.
