PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device capable of effectively utilizing the regenerative power without increasing a capacity of a capacitor. SOLUTION: This elevator device is provided with a hoisting machine, a rope hung on the hoisting machine, a car 9 suspended from one side of the rope, a balance weight 10 suspended from the other side of the rope, and having a weight lighter than a weight of the car without passengers, a motor for driving the hoisting machine to vertically move the car 9, a rectifying means 3 for rectifying the AC power from a commercial power source 1 and outputting the DC power, a smoothening capacitor 4 for smoothening the DC power, an inverter 5 for inverting the smoothened DC power into the AC power of variable frequency and variable voltage, and supplying the same to the motor 6, an elevator controller 11 outputting a rotation control signal to the inverter 5, and the capacitor 14 connected to both end parts of the smoothening capacitor 4 for accumulating the regenerative power of the motor 6 and discharging the accumulated power in powering the car 9. |
