PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens controller with which a lens barrel is miniaturized and also a wiring member is miniaturized and which is easily handled. SOLUTION: Light is shielded at a common photointerrupter 16 by the variator light-shielding plate 8 of a variable lens 2 and the focus light-shielding plate 13 of a focus lens 4, and when the moving origin of the variator lens 2 or that of the focus lens 4 is detected, one lens is withdrawn from a position at which the common photointerrupter 16 is provided before the other lens is moved toward the direction of the common photointerrupter 16 for detecting the moving origin of the other lens.
