PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of an automobile seat having the risk that when the seat is approximated to the flat state to improve the bed state, an occupant is liable to slide forward on his hip during running. SOLUTION: In this seat for an automobile, the lower surface of the front of the seat 2 substantially uniform in thickness and having a substantially flat surface is provided with a hinge part 4 to tilt the seat 2. The lower surface of the rear part of the seat 2 is provided with an adjuster part 5 for lowering the seat rear part in erecting a seat back 3 and raising the seat rear part in making the seat back 3 flat. The adjuster part 5 is provided with a three-point link mechanism formed by an upper cam plate 50 and a lower cam plate 51 shaped like a right triangle in a side view, and a support handle 52 disposed on right and left of the surface of the seat rear part. A connecting handle 53 is stretched between the right and left support handles 52, and the connecting handle 53 is moved to turn the upper cam plate 50, the lower cam plate 51 and the support handle 52 to vary the height of the link mechanism.
