PURPOSE: A liquid crystal projection television usable as a projector and a method for converting the same are provided to reproduce various images, thereby improving consumer satisfaction index. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal projection television usable as a projector includes a screen(37) detachably installed at a main body in order to be convertible into the projector; a sensor(40) sensing a detachable state or a position of the screen; a supporter(39) installed at the lower side of the main body to control height of the main body mounting various devices according to a projection function and a television function; a micro computer applying an inversion signal to an image control part to invert image information right and left according to the signal from the sensor, and applying a brightness improving signal to a color control part to improve brightness.
