PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device wherein the reduction of contrast in image display can be suppressed by forming the surface of a reflection electrode in an appropriately rugged shape. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with a first and a second substrates 1 and 2, a liquid crystal layer 3 which is interposed between the substrates 1 and 2 and in which a liquid crystal is enclosed and a reflection electrode 13 having a reflection surface 13a for reflecting light transmitted through the first substrate 1 and the liquid crystal layer 3 from the outside toward the first substrate 1. A resin layer 12 which contains a resin 16 and fine particles 17 dispersed in the resin 16 and whose surface is formed in a rugged face based on the shape of the fine particles 17 is provided on the surface 2a of the second substrate 2. The reflection electrode 13 is provided on the surface 12a of the resin layer 12 and the reflection surface 13a of the reflection electrode 13 is formed in a rugged shape in accordance with the rugged face of the resin layer 12. |
