PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid crystal display device hardly affected by the reduction of contrast due to the change of surrounding illuminance and capable of giving clear and bright display. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device has a liquid crystal filled between: a counter substrate 3 on which a color filter 4, a transparent electrode 5 and an alignment layer 6a are sequentially formed; and a glass 10 on which at least a TFT element 13, a reflection film 8, a transparent electrode 9 and an alignment layer 6b are sequentially formed. A plurality of openings 20 having light transmissivity are formed per one pixel on the reflection film 8, and the transparent electrode 9 is formed over the entire pixel. For example, there are formed on the reflection surface of the reflection film 8 formed on an interlayer insulating film 17: a flat reflection surface; a rugged structure 18 having a nearly circular shape in terms of top view on the same level thereto and a nearly curved shape in the terms of side view and having diffusion property; and the opening 20 having transmissivity. |
