<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic clutch for an automobile air conditioner compressor that is reduced in cost by reducing size, saving space and dispensing with a metal terminal. SOLUTION: The electromagnetic clutch operates so that excitation of a coil housed in a coil assembly couples a rotor and an armature together to drive a compressor via a driveshaft coupled direct to the armature. A power source connection end of the coil is led out from the coil assembly and extended to a power source connector, and is connected to the power source connector as a reach down to a connection to the power source connector is provided with a protective coating. Omission of a harness, a metal terminal and the like dedicated to the power source connector connection attains a small size, and the provision of the protective coating provides a safety protection for the extension portion of the power source connection end down to the power source connector.</p> |
