PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyethylene terephthalate comprising a polyester having an enlarged crystallization temperature range, used for a polyester container. SOLUTION: The polyethylene terephthalate for a polyester container has a cyclic trimer content of 0.37-0.55 wt.% and a temperature-rise crystallization temperature (Tc1) of 145 deg.C or lower, with a difference between the temperature- fall crystallization temperature (Tc2) and the temperature-rise crystallization temperature (Tc1), i.e., (Tc2-Tc1), being 45 deg.C or greater.
