PARTIALLY POLYFLUOROHYDROCARBON-GROUP-CONTAINING POLYMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel polymer other than a polymer partially having polyfluorohydrocarbon groups at only both terminals and to provide a surface treatment capable of providing excellent surface characteristics. SOLUTION: A compound which has conjugated double bonds incapable of self-polymerizing but capable of reacting with an anionic terminal and has a functional group formed by introducing a polyfluorohydrocarbon group into the molecule is reacted with an anionic terminal formed by anionic living polymerization. Thus obtained anion is reacted with a compound having at least two functional groups reactive with an anion and then reacted with (1) an anion having a functional group capable of introducing a polyfluorohydrocarbon group into the molecule, (2) an anionic terminal formed by anionic living polymerization, or (3) an anion which is obtained by reacting the terminal of an anion formed by an anionic living polymerization with a compound incapable of self-polymerizing but which has a conjugated double bonds capable of reacting with an anion and a functional group capable of introducing a polyfluorohydrocarbon group into the molecule.
