PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a P-position lock mechanism without using a solenoid mechanism. SOLUTION: This device is composed of a shift lever 1 for a speed change operation of a transmission, a staggered gate 5 regulating each speed change position of the shift lever 1, a plunger 2 always pressed on a lower part of the shift lever 1 in a fixed direction by a spring repulsion force of a spring 25, a guide part 3 composed of an inclined surface on which a tip part 21 of the plunger 2 always contacts and functioning to press the tip part 21 of the plunger 2 by the spring repulsion force of the spring 25 and to press the plunger 2 and the shift lever 1 to one side surface side of the staggered gate 5, and a lock means 6 having an engagement part 611 making the shift lever 1 engaged when the shift lever 1 is sifted to the P-position of the staggered gate 5.
