PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily stop a second hand at the zero section position even in an analog electronic timepiece moving the hand at a high repetition rate. SOLUTION: A dividing circuit 102 outputs a low-frequency pulse signal and a high-frequency pulse signal each having a predetermined frequency to a control circuit 103. The control circuit 103 outputs a low-frequency pulse signal with four pulses per second arranged at an equal interval when a detection circuit 108 detects that an operation part 109 is not operated, and repeatedly outputs a high-frequency pulse signal comprising four continuous pulses at every second when the detection circuit 108 detects that the operation part 109 is operated. A motor driving circuit 106 and a motor 107 execute normal movement of the second hand in response to the low-frequency pulse signal, quickly moves the second hand in response to the high-frequency pulse signal and thereafter repeats an operation for stopping it for a predetermined period at a one-second period.
