PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a finishing agent for synthetic fiber enabling the synthetic fiber to be simultaneously imparted with sufficiently sustainable good smoothness and softness, and to provide a method for finishing such synthetic fiber with the agent. SOLUTION: This finishing agent for synthetic fiber comprises two kinds of linear amino-modified polyorganosiloxanes having respectively specific viscosity ranges differing from each other and a specific silane compound in specified proportions respectively.
