PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a keratin peeling promoter suitable for an improving agent or a reducing agent for roughness of the heel or palm by promotion of keratin peeling, an improving agent for cosmetic adhesion, an improving agent for dullness or a prophylactic or an improving agent for roughness of comedone, keratotic plugs or pores of the skin, an improving agent for texture and an improving agent for small wrinkles. SOLUTION: This keratin peeling promoter is characterized as comprising at least one kind selected from a hydroxypyridone derivative, proline, an oxidized form CoA and ellagic acid. For example, piroctone olamine [another name: 1-hydroxy-4-methyl-6-(2,4,4-trimethylpentyl)-2(1H)-pyridone monoethanolamine salt] (octopirox) is cited as the hydroxypyridine derivative.
