PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control system for a passenger conveyor that can shut down a passenger conveyor via remote control inexpensively and without trouble. SOLUTION: The control system for a passenger conveyor comprises a shutdown switch 9 disposed in a remote site for shutting down the passenger conveyor 1, and a shutdown commanding means 14 and 15 for blocking a restart of the passenger conveyor 1 by a running means when the shutdown switch 9 is actuated.
