The device has a housing (2) closable by a lid (5) and containing a ring filter (15) which fits onto a central pipe (6) at the bottom of the housing. A pipe body (19) fits inside this pipe by its end (20) facing the housing bottom so that a first ring chamber (22) is formed radially between the pipe and pipe body. The pipe has a radial aperture (23) through which the ring chamber communicates with the outlet (14). At the other end the ring filter fits outside on an end section (25) of the pipe body remote from the housing bottom and a second ring chamber (27) communicating with the first is formed radially between the filter and pipe body. The inside (46) of the pipe body communicates through a central opening (7) in the pipe with the return line (8).
