Continuous tone images are produced on high contrast photographic line film of the litho-process type by imagewise exposing the film, submersing the film in a fast acting devloper until just prior to the appearance of white areas of the latent image, then immediately submersing the film in a high contrast developer provided with low-density cut-off characteristics until a transparency is produced and then stopping and fixing. The high contrast developer may contain a component which bleaches heavily exposed areas. |
