PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic toner showing fast rising property of electrification even in a high humidity or low humidity environment and producing no fog or ghost. SOLUTION: The magnetic toner contains magnetic toner particles having at least a binder resin and magnetic iron oxide. When the wettability of the magnetic toner with a methanol/water mixture solvent is measured in terms of the transmissivity for light at 780 nm wavelength, the methanol concentration ranges from 65 to 75% at 80% transmissivity and from 66 to 76% transmissivity.
