PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator for a drive-selecting device capable of minimizing heat generation of a motor. SOLUTION: When a first condition under which an output member cannot operate while a motor is energized is detected, energizing the motor is controlled at a point when the first condition is reached. When a second condition under which the output member operates with receiving a designated load while a motor is energized is detected, energizing the motor is controlled at a point when the second condition has continued for a designated period.
