PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a vehicular differential gear compact, and eliminate the need of troublesome adjustment at assembling, by abolishing an exterior parking brake and providing a brake by using a dead space in a gear case. SOLUTION: An input side bevel gear 12 is fixed to an input shaft 11, and an output side bevel gear 13 meshed with the input side bevel gear 12 is coupled with a differential case 15. In a space formed by a bearing retainer 18 rotatably supporting an expanding portion 15a of the differential case 15, a parking brake A is disposed. A brake piston 21 moved by operating an operation lever 25 of the parking brake A presses a brake mating plate 20 inhibited from rotating by a brake plate 19, thereby preventing rotations of the differential case 15.
