The steam condenser (1), for a power station, has a unit (12) to feed unrelaxed steam at the condensation pipe (8) at a wall (13) of the mantle (5) shrouding the steam zone (4). It has a large chamber (22), to allow the steam to expand, extending over almost all the condenser wall surface. Two steam distribution pipes (16,18) are in the chamber, with perforated diaphragms. The steam flows from the chamber into the steam zone through a number of holes or narrow slits, spread over the wall. |
