BOOK RETURNING DEVICE AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a book returning device and a book returning method for returning a book after reading a bar code label affixed to the book in which presence of the book can be controlled correctly by preventing the forgetting of reading the bar code. SOLUTION: The bar code returning device 1 for returning the book to a return port 2 after reading the bar code of the book comprises a means for checking presence/absence of reading the bar code when the book is placed in the return port 2, and a means for outputting warning information when the bar code is not read.
