PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve a problem of not having a profound crime preventing effect in a conventional elevator. SOLUTION: The elevator is provided with an elevator body 1, call buttons provided in each floor, an opening and closing button and a floor designating button provided on the in side of the elevator body 1, a driving means 2 driving the elevator body 1 on the basis of a pushed button when a button such as a call button is pressed, a fingerprint reading means 3 provided in all or a part of the call buttons, the opening and closing button, and the floor designating button and reading a fingerprint of a person pressing the button, a storing means 4 storing fingerprints of preregistered object people, and an authenticating means 5 authenticating whether or not the fingerprint read by the fingerprint reading means 3 coincides with one of the fingerprints stored in the storing means 4. When it is authenticated that the read fingerprint coincides with one of the stored fingerprints, the driving means 2 drives the elevator body 1. |
