<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side lock device for a containing body such as a glove box. SOLUTION: In this side lock device for a containing body, a housing 1 is provided comprising a containing body B installed on a support body to be capable of opening/closing, with a right and a left latches 8a and 8b movably held on the containing body side, so that tip parts of the right and the left latches are protruded/retracted to/from lock holes 16a and 16b on the support body side through through-holes 4a and 4b formed in side walls of the housing. A slider 7 having inclined cam slits 11 to be engaged with the right/left latches to accelerate their protrusion/retraction is movably supported in the housing. The slider is operated against elastic energization of the right and the left latches to elastically energize the slider in a protruding direction toward the lock holes, so that the tip parts of the right and the left latches are retracted into the through holes from the lock holes. When need of changing latch protrusion/retraction quantity on both sides is generated, the need can be satisfied by only changing the inclination angle or length of the cam slits in the slider.</p> |
