PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a water-in-oil type self-tanning cosmetic which colors the skin evenly, provides the skin with a color closer to a natural suntan and is stably formulated with a self-tanning agent. SOLUTION: This water-in-oil type self-tanning cosmetic is characterized by comprising (A) dihydroxyacetone and/or erythrulose, (B) a crosslinking type polyether-modified silicone, (C) 5-50 mass % of a silicone oil and (D) an inorganic salt.
