PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry sheets in extremely stable states by preventing skew of carrying attitudes of the sheets and jam of the sheets within a sheet carrying device, in the sheet carrying device to be used for carrying various kinds of sheets such as documents. SOLUTION: This sheet carrying device provided with a carrier roller 10 capable of carrying the sheets in the upstream to the downstream and a carrier belt 20 capable of carrying the sheets carried by the carrier roller 10 further to the downstream by making the sheets as a group is provided with a contact prevention means 11 for preventing contact of side end parts of the sheets in the upstream and the carrier roller 10 and/or carrier guide 50 arranged in the vicinity of the outside of the carrier belt 20.
