PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a center armrest which is raised at the central part in the lateral direction of a rear seat in a passenger car, stored in a recessed part formed on the surface of a backrest, and positioned in parallel of seated surface to facilitate getting on and off, and keep a safe seated posture against vibration of a vehicle in its seated state. SOLUTION: In this center armrest 1 raised at the central part in the lateral direction of the rear seat in the passenger car, annular grips 8 are provided on both sides of a box 5 constituting the body of the center armrest. Back lids 9 for opening and closing the annular openings 11 on both sides from inside are provided to be raised and laid down on both sides and at the base 7 in the box 5 constituting the body of the center armrest 1.
