RESIN FOR COATING PAPER AND PAPER-COATING COMPOSITION USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin for coating paper that can attain well-balanced improvement of the air permeability, ink acceptance and wet pick with no liberation of formaldehyde and provide a composition for paper coating including the same. SOLUTION: The objective resin for paper coating characteristically comprises (B) a polyamideamine-epihalohydrin resin that is obtained by allowing (C) an epihalohydrin to react with (A) a polyamideamine prepared by reaction of (a) a polyamine represented by following general formula (1) with (b) a carbon- cyclic ring-bearing polybasic carboxylic acid that has a chemical structure that at least one of carboxyl group is bonded to individual carbon atoms adjacent to each other at a molar ratio of 1.05-3 moles of the component (b) to 1 mole of the component (a).
