CARBONIZED FOAM AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING FOR THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbonized foam which is homogeneous free of variations in foam diameter and mechanical strength by making combination use of external heating and internal heating to uniformly performing drying of a required resin as a drying method in forming a coating layer by applying the required resin to the inside and outside surfaces of a melamine foam which is a base material and drying the required resin and a method of manufacturing for the same. SOLUTION: The homogeneous carbonized foam 10 is obtained by simultaneously subjecting the coated foam 16 consisting of the base material 12 composed of the foam of the melamine resin as material and the coating layer 14 of the required resin applied to the inside and outside surfaces of the base material 12 over the entire part thereof and dried, then carbonizing the required resin.
