PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a proximity field optical fiber probe exhibiting high dimensional controllability, and its manufacturing method, in which arrival of light emitted from a micro opening is enhanced by increasing the refractive index. SOLUTION: In the structure of a proximity field optical probe emitting proximity field light, truncated conical protrusions are formed of a high refractive index material on a transparent substrate. In the method for manufacturing a proximity field optical probe, the truncated conical protrusions are formed of a high refractive index material by dry etching. |
