<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a therapeutic agent for impending incontinence accompanied by various kinds of diseases caused by the damage or the degneration of the central nervous system. SOLUTION: A 1,2-ethane diol derivative represented by the general formula [wherein, R<1> is a (substituted) heterocyclic group; R<2> is a hydrogen atom or a hydroxy protective group; R<3> is a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group; n R<4> s and R<5> s are same or different and each a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group; R<6> is a (substituted) amino group or an ammonio group; and n is an integer of 1-6], or a salt thereof has activities for ameliorating the overactive bladder caused by cerebral infarction, and is useful as the therapeutic agent of various kinds of diseases caused by the damage or the degneration of the central nervous system, e.g. the impending incontinence having main complaints about increased urinary frequency and night urination accompanied by cerebrovascular disorder, Parkinson's disease, various kinds of neuropathy and the like.</p> |
