PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately erase a color even during high speed conveyance and to prevent generation of waving or ruggedness in a thermosensitive recording medium at the time of a color erasure process. SOLUTION: A conveyance path 42 for conveying a thermosensitive recording medium 1 in a curved form is provided in the vicinity of the conveyance direction downstream side of a heating erasure unit 20 for erasing a color of a thermosensitive layer in the conveyance path of the thermosensitive recording medium 1. By forcibly curving the thermosensitive recording medium 1 heated by the heating erasure unit 20 and cooling down the thermosensitive recording medium 1 in a tensed state (a state with a high rigidity) from the vicinity of the color erasable temperature, drastic thermal deformation of the layers of the thermosensitive recording medium 1 is prevented so as to prevent generation of waving or ruggedness phenomenon in the thermosensitive recording medium 1.
