PURPOSE: A vertical type of plane puzzle is provided to enjoy playing with the puzzle without distinction of age or sex, stimulate object recognition ability and imagination for combination on collating process, and develop a user' brain, by collating vertical type of plane pieces with vertically stand-up states on a plane base plate to implement partial pictures and vertical shapes expressed on upside portions of the vertical type of pieces into an entire shape. Also, the vertical type of plane puzzle has a high aesthetic quality enough to use the puzzle as fancy goods as well as having play, hobby and educative elements. CONSTITUTION: The vertical type of plane puzzle comprises a plurality of monomer vertical pieces(2a) having vertical pieces partial pictures and vertical shapes expressed on the upside portions thereof, whose below portions are cut into rectangular shapes for easily inserting into; and a plane base plate(4a) having inserting grooves(6a) formed with regular distances on the whole surface of the upper side thereof, wherein the inserting grooves allow the vertical pieces to be inserted and collated to the plane base plate with stand-up states.
