IMAGE FORMING METHOD AND INTERMEDIATE TRANSFER RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermediate transfer recording medium having a receiving layer arranged on a substrate in a peelable manner, capable of transferring an image to a receiving object at an accurate position when the receiving layer to which the image is formed is to be re-transferred to the receiving object and capable of simply forming a thermal transfer image on an arbitrary object without cutting a thermal transfer sheet when the image is to be formed at the end of the receiving layer, and an image forming method using the same. SOLUTION: In the intermediate transfer recording medium, a sheet substrate provided with a resin layer and a transparent sheet provided with the receiving layer are laminated and half-cut processing is applied to the transparent sheet inclusive of the receiving layer and the resin layer is peeled from the transparent sheet. This intermediate transfer recording medium is used to form a transfer image on the receiving layer and the part subjected to half-cut processing is set as a boundary to cut the transparent sheet and only the patch part surrounded by the half-cut processing is re-transferred to the receiving object to form an image. In this image forming method, the image having an area smaller than the size of the patch part is formed on the patch part and this patch part is re-transferred to the receiving object.
