PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat sensitive recording material, the coloring of a ground part of which is a few, which has a favorable degree of whiteness and the thermal marking-off of hues (yellow, magenta and cyan) in an image part of which at a multicolor heat sensitive recording is good. SOLUTION: The heat sensitive recording material is provided with at least two layers or more of heat sensitive recording layers, and a protective layer on a support under the condition that the heat sensitive recording layer the nearest to the support among the heat sensitive recording layers includes an electron donable colorless dye containing in microcapsules and an electron acceptable compound as color developing components. At least one of compounds represented by general formula (1) is encapsulated in the micro capsules. In general formula (1), L represents -(CH2 )n - and n represents an integer of 1 to 4. R represents a 1-5C straight-chain or branched alkyl group. |
