PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To significantly reduce colliding noise (rattling noise) between tooth flanks caused by backlash of a reduction gear even when an output of a motor- driven power steering device is enhanced. SOLUTION: A male spline part 6a of a right end of a rotary shaft 6 is connected so as to freely move in an axial direction and not rotate to a driving shaft 5 of a female spline of an electric motor 4. The rotary shaft 6 is rotatably supported on both sides by a pair of bearings 7 and 8. A cylindrical worm cylinder 10 formed with worm teeth in an outer circumferential face and a female spline in an inner circumferential face is externally fit so as to freely move in the axial direction and unrotatable on a male spline part 6b formed in a center part of the rotary shaft 6. A pair of elastic members 11 and 12 resiliently pressing the worm cylinder 10 from both sides is attached between both sides of the worm cylinder 10 and inner rings of the bearings 7 and 8. |
