PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a general-purpose rod-like glow plug that facilitates mass production and can be used as a simple rod-like glow plug or a glow plug for measurement. SOLUTION: In a rod-like glow plug provided with a plug body (7) and an interior heating rod (1), the rod-like glow plug is provided with an electrically insulating molded part (3) between the heating rod (1) and the main body (7) at the place of a sealing seat. The molded part (3) is firmly adjoined to the heating rod (1). The end portion (7a) on the combustion chamber side of the plug body (7) is insulated from the heating rod (1), and contacts or combines with the electrically insulating molded part (3) to be supported.
