FIELD: sand traps with tangential supply of liquid; applicable in treatment of domestic and close to them industrial sewage waters. SUBSTANCE: sand trap has mechanism for control of water flow velocity which includes rectangular blades articulated with one another by transverse ties, retainer and control lever. Sand trap also has mechanism for withdrawal of sediment. Said mechanism includes spring-loaded pendulum lever, retainer-tooth with spring, rope and conical gate. Blades may be made with holes. EFFECT: higher degree of sewage purification due to control of water flow velocity and automatic withdrawal of sediments. 4 cl, 8 dwg
