PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biodegradable material for agriculture-and-forestry civil engineering, and a cloth and a method for reinforcement of ground, which prevent development of an environmental problem by virtue of biodegradability, enable a reduction in cost for ground leveling, and bring about high mechanical strength and high permeability. SOLUTION: The biodegradable material for the agriculture-and-forestry civil engineering, which is made from aliphatic polyester, is composed of a woven fabric manufactured by weaving flat yarns wherein protrusive streaks are formed along a lengthwise direction of the yarns. In that case, polybutyrene succinate or polybutyrene succinate adipate serves preferably as a principal recurring unit of the aliphatic polyester. The cloth for the reinforcement of the ground is composed of the biodegradable material for the agriculture-and- forestry civil engineering. In addition, the method for the reinforcement of the ground is characterized in that the ground is reinforced by laying the cloth on the leveled ground.
