PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic sensor for its centering with high accuracy. SOLUTION: The electromagnetic sensor 1 comprises a stepped case 2 formed in a continuous length in the axial direction, a permanent magnet 4 fitted to a base member 3, a traveling pin 6 connected to one end of a leaf spring 5 that is extended in the axial direction inside a small-diameter section 22 of the case 2, and a Hall element 7 that approaches or is separated from the permanent magnet 4 accompanying the travel of the traveling pin 6. Inserting the electromagnetic sensor 1 into the centering hole of an object to be measured makes the traveling pin 6 to come into contact with the inner-periphery wall of the centering hole and move the traveling pin 6 toward the axis center of the case 2, thus making the leaf spring 5 deflect. Accompanying the travel of the traveling pin 6, the permanent magnet 5 outputs a voltage according to the amount of displacement in a magnetic field formed by the permanent magnet 4.
