PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a four-cycle engine for an outboard motor for preventing backflow of a lubricating oil when the outboard motor tilts backward. SOLUTION: This four-cycle engine for the outboard motor comprises crankcases 16a and 16b, a cylinder block 17, and a cylinder head 18, and supplies the lubricating oil to each components in the engine 2 using an oil pump 45. An oil dropping passage 57 extending from a valve system chamber 20 in the cylinder head 18 is directly guided to the upstream side of the oil pump 45. |
