PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight wave gear device provided with mesh rigidity and tooth flank hardness of the same level as that of the case where it is made of an ion based raw material, and abrasion resistance. SOLUTION: In a cup-shaped wave gear device 1, its rigid internal toothed gear 2 is formed by a light alloy such as an aluminum alloy and the tooth form of the internal tooth 21 has a tooth depth 1.1-1.3 times as long as that of the tooth form of an internal gear of an ion based raw material. In addition, a hard coating coated with electroless plating is formed on its tooth flank 21a. Thereby, a lightweight wave gear device provided with mesh rigidity and tooth flank strength of the same level as that of the case where the rigid internal toothed gear is manufactured from the ion based raw material, and abrasion resistance can be realized. |
